What Are We Exploring?
Halifax is considering two possible options for girls wrestling:
🥇 Option 1: Start a Halifax Girls Wrestling Program
Establish a Junior High (grades 7–8) and High School (grades 9–12) PIAA girls wrestling program at Halifax.
🤝 Option 2: Cooperative Sport Sponsorship (Co-Op)
Partner with another public school that offers girls wrestling, allowing Halifax girls in grades 7–12 to compete as part of that program.
What We Offer Now
Our Mat Cats Elementary Wrestling Program currently provides boys and girls in grades K–6 with the opportunity to participate in wrestling.
However, Halifax does not currently offer a girls wrestling program for students in grades 7–12.
We want to hear from you! Your feedback will help us assess interest and determine the best path forward for girls wrestling at Halifax.

Admission Reminders from Susquehanna Township:
Bills larger than $20 will NOT be accepted at the gate.
All students must show a valid high school student ID or other form of school identification.
A screenshot or printed copy of the student's ID is also acceptable.
FOOTBALL will play on THURSDAY 9/18, at Susquehanna Township (3500 Elmerton Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17109) vs Steel High.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Tickets are sold at the main gate entrance. Students - $3 / Adults - $5
High school students of Steelton and Halifax are allowed to attend with proper school identification.
All children and students in 8th grade and below must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Students in this age group who arrive without an adult will not be permitted entry.
Students from all other schools must be accompanied by an adult.
No re-entry; Gates will be closed at halftime
No bills over $20 will be accepted at the ticket booth. Please plan accordingly.
Halifax will be on the Scoreboard side. Steel High will be on the Concession Stand side.

Important Dates:
• Tuesday August 4, 2026d @ 7:00pm – Mandatory Fall Sports Meeting for parents/guardians: 7pm Athletic Director’s meeting with parents - Auditorium, 8pm sport specific meeting with coaches and parents.
• Wednesday July 29th @ 8:30am – Sport Physicals hosted by UPMC in the Halifax High School Gym. This is for athletes who plan to participate in any Halifax MS/HS sport in any season. The cost is $10.00 fee per student. Checks payable to "HASD." SECTIONS 1-5 of the Physical Form (CIPPE) Must be completed PRIOR. You may print from Arbiter Registration or bring a paper copy of Section 5.
• Monday August 10th - Mandatory practices begin for Football and Golf, Cheerleading (Registration is due prior to this date)
• Monday August 17th – Mandatory Practices begin for Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country (Registration is due prior to this date)

State Semifinals! Halifax Baseball defeated Faith Christian Academy 4-3 Thursday and advances to play Southern Columbia on Monday June 8th at 4:00pm at North Schuylkill High School. Game Day Information: Address: North Schuylkill School District 15 Academy Lane Ashland, PA 17921 June 8th 4 pm- Class AA Semifinal Game Halifax Area will occupy the dugout on the 1st base side There will be a concession stand open during the game for spectators Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs, as there is limited bleacher space. Fans may set up chairs along the hill on the first base side. Parking information: Please see the attached map for spectator parking areas. Upon entering the campus, vehicles should stay to the right. At that point, fans may either park in the lower HS lot, or continue to follow road out to stop sign, make a right, and take that road to the NS Elementary parking lot. Vehicles will not be permitted to park in the grass on the first base side. Fans may park in the lower HS parking lot and walk up to field, or in the Elementary School lot beyond right field. The lot between the baseball field and back gate of stadium will be reserved for handicapped. This area is foul ball territory, and vehicles parking there must do so at their own risk.
