Assistant Softball Coach

As a staff member of the athletic program under the direction of the athletic director and head coach, the assistant coach helps the head coach implement approved policies of the athletic program; direct the overall activities of the team; cultivate and maintain a positive team culture and provide a positive experience for the student-athletes; communicate effectively and appropriately with the administration, head coach, student-athletes, parents, and the media; provides for the welfare of the athletes; maintains and enhances the school’s standing in the community through the conduct and performance of the players; and fulfills other duties associated with the team and athletes as may be assigned by the head coach.

Requirements:

Prior coaching experience; effective communication and leadership skills; thorough knowledge of the sport; desire to better the program, school community, and individual student-athletes through positive team culture and character education. Preferred qualifications include prior coaching experience at the high school and/or college level and playing experience at the high school and/or college level.

Head Strength Coach

A part-time position for a qualified individual to supervise, maintain, and improve the Fitness Center and Weight Room. Duties include supervision of students using the facilities at least three (3) days a week after school with assistance from the Assistant Strength Coach; cultivate and maintain a positive culture and provide a positive experience for students; communicate effectively with administration, student-athletes, and when necessary, coaches.; recommend budget requests for supplies and equipment; provide for the welfare of the students using the facilities; and fulfill other duties associated with the program and athletes as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Requirements:

Effective communication and leadership skills; thorough knowledge of fitness, strength and conditioning, weightlifting safety, and basic understanding of injury prevention; desire to better Halifax athletics, school community, and individual student-athletes through positive culture. Preferred qualifications include weightlifting and conditioning coaching experience.
