PE/Music Class Dress Codes
Physical Education Dress Code
The elementary physical education dress code prioritizes comfort, safety, and mobility.
Comfortable Clothing: Students are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic wear, such as shorts, t-shirts, sweatpants, or leggings, which should allow for easy movement during activities.
Footwear/Safety: Closed-toe athletic shoes with good grip and support are required to prevent injuries during physical activities. For safety concerns, sandals, crocs, flip-flops, or shoes that are not athletic shoes without proper support are not allowed. If you are wearing shoes that are not closed-toe athletic shoes, please ensure that closed-toe athletic shoes are brought to school to change into before class. Loose jewelry and accessories that pose safety hazards during physical activities are prohibited.
Weather-Appropriate Attire: The teacher will notify students that, depending on the climate and outdoor activities, they may need to dress accordingly. This could include layers for colder weather or sunscreen and hats for outdoor activities in sunny weather.
Music Class Dress Code
All students are required to wear sneakers or flat, non-platform shoes (with a back strap to tighten) (shoestrings and Velcro are acceptable). Students wearing inappropriate footwear for music class will be asked to sit out during the game, dance, or activity requiring movement. Provisions can be made for students who do not have access to sneakers. Any sneaker that would be appropriate for physical education class would also be appropriate for music class.
