COVID-19 Related Athletic Information
We understand that athletics provides a different level of caution due to potential contact and cross communal spread of the COVID-19 disease. Please refer to these resources to help navigate these risks and know that student safety is our priority.
SPECTATOR POLICY (effective 03/01/2021):
Per state guidance, we are permitted 15% occupancy indoors and 20% occupancy outdoors.
-> High School Basketball:
FOUR (4) spectators per HALIFAX basketball player Halifax home basketball games at this time. No away spectators.
-> Elementary Wrestling:
One (1) parent/guardian may accompany each elementary age wrestler at HALIFAX elementary contests.
-> SPRING SPORTS are TBD.
Spectators must comply with social distancing and face-covering policies. Households must sit at least six (6) feet apart from other households, the first three rows of the bleachers must remain vacant, and masks are required at all times by all individuals. Violators will not be permitted to attend future events during this school year.
We will continue to evaluate our ability to per spectators both from a health and safety lens and a Department of Health compliance lens.
MASK POLICY (effective 11/23/2020):
All persons on school grounds must be wearing a proper face covering at all times. This includes staff, students, game workers, officials, athletes, and spectators (where permitted). Section 3 medical exemptions must be pre-approved by the school nurse.
