Championship History

  • The Halifax Area Wildcats have an achievement standard of “athletes first, winning second.” We believe the well-being of our athletes as individuals and community members supersedes the goal of winning. Character comes first and it takes both on the field and off the field successes to call a season a success.

    Off the Field:

Giz Award: The Giz award is the most prestigious award at Halifax and is awarded only if a senior displays desire, cooperation, leadership, and excellent ability. Named after Gary Lee Zimmerman, this award carries an honor that extends beyond the field of play. The 2020 Giz Award Recipient was Nathan Blasick for his accomplishments on and off the field in Basketball and Baseball.

Sportsmanship: In 2019 Nathan Tanner was awarded the TVAA Soccer Officials’ Sportsmanship award for his outstanding display of character and leadership on the pitch. This awarded is presented to either a male of female  soccer player within the Tri-Valley Athletic Association and is voted on by the officials.
