• Class of 2022 Information

    The purpose of this page is to provide helpful resources for your senior year.  Please note that all dates are subject to change and any questions should be directed to Ms. B. Enders via email or phone message.  Thank you and congratulations!  We look forward to a successful senior year!

     

    ADOPT A SENIOR:

    Each senior has been adopted by a faculty/staff member for encouragement through the last few weeks of school.  If you are a graduating senior and you have not received an act of kindness by a faculty/staff member by May 13, please let Ms. B. Enders know.

     

    OBLIGATIONS:

    All seniors need to make sure that all obligations are taken care of ASAP.  These obligations could be owed textbooks, owed cafeteria money, technology items, class dues, etc. Please check with Mrs. Leader in the high school office for a list of your obligations.

    END OF THE YEAR EVENTS:

    Cap and Gown Distribution will be on Friday, May 20 at 9:06 AM in the auditorium.  All graduating seniors MUST attend this distribution meeting.

    • Caps may be decorated for senior events this year.  All students must follow the provided guidelines.  
    • Any student decorating a cap MUST submit an emailed picture of the decorated cap to Ms. B. Enders, class advisor, no later than Wednesday, May 25 at 9:00 AM.  Please email the picture to endersb@hasd.us. 
    • Pre-purchased yearbooks will be handed out at this time.  Those who did not order a yearbook but would like to purchase one may do so beginning May 25.  The cost will be $80 and cash or check, made payable to HHS Yearbook, must be presented at the time of purchasing a book.

    Senior Final Exam Special Excuse Forms are due at the high school office no later than Friday, May 20.  

    • These forms were handed out during discovery on Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10.  Co-op students received their forms from the front office.
    • Only in-person students received a form.  HACC students do not receive forms.
    • All in-person students MUST return this form, even if they are not scheduled for any exams on either day to have excused absences.

    Senior Final Exams are on Wednesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 26

    • Social Studies and then Math will be given on Wednesday.
    • English and then Science will be given on Thursday.
    • In-person seniors who are exempted from exams AND have handed in their special excuse forms are excused from school those days.

    Senior Breakfast is on Friday, May 27 at 9:00 AM, followed by the Senior Walk to the elementary school at 10:00 AM. These are required events for all graduates.

    • Seniors report to the cafeteria at 9:00 AM to have breakfast.
    • Seniors should bring all school issued technology items with them to hand in to HS Lobby.
    • We will walk to the elementary school in cap and gown at 10:00 AM.
    • You do not have specific dress requirements underneath the gowns but comfortable walking shoes are suggested!
    • Following the walk to and from the elementary school, seniors are permitted to leave school.

    Monday, May 30 there is NO SCHOOL in observation of Memorial Day.

    Awards Night will be on Tuesday, May 31 at 7PM and students will be informed by May 18 if a graduate is to attend from the Guidance Office. 

    • We will be asking any seniors who applied for any scholarships to keep the date open until they hear official word from the Guidance Office if they are a recipient of any award(s) 
    • The Awards Night will be invite only to those who are receiving awards
    • All students who are invited to participate MUST attend practice at 10:00 AM on May 31 in the auditorium.  Students who are not invited to participate do not need to attend school.
    • Arrival time for the evening is 6:40 PM in the HS cafeteria.
    • Awards Night attire should be:
      • Ladies: Dress shoes, dress/skirt/pant suit should be worn with dress shoes/sandals (no casual shoes or flip flops); appropriate hair style to wear your cap
        • Remember you will have to walk on the stage, so heels are not highly advised if you are not accustomed to walking in heels.
      • Gentlemen: Dress shirt and tie and slacks with dress shoes
      • You may wear any academic/athletic/military medals that you have received; gold medals will be given out prior to the ceremony.

    Senior Class Picture will be taken on Wednesday, June 1 at 8:00 AM in the high school gymnasium.  

    • ALL graduates MUST attend the picture.
    • Commencement/graduation attire is required for the picture.
      • Ladies: Dress shoes, dress/skirt/ pants suit should be worn with dress shoes/sandals (no casual shoes or flip flops); appropriate hair style to wear your cap
      • Gentlemen: Light colored dress shirt and tie with dark dress pants and dark dress shoes
      • Please lightly press your gown, if needed, so it is NOT wrinkled.

    Baccalaureate service will be on Wednesday, June 1 at 7 PM in the high school auditorium

    • Students wishing to participate in the Baccalaureate service MUST attend the practice on Wednesday, June 1 at 9:00 AM.
    • This is NOT a mandatory event.
    • Arrival time for the evening is 6:40 PM in the HS cafeteria.
    • Commencement/graduation attire should be followed for the Baccalaureate service.
      • Ladies: Dress shoes, dress/skirt/ pants suit should be worn with dress shoes/sandals (no casual shoes or flip flops); appropriate hair style to wear your cap
      • Gentlemen: Light colored dress shirt and tie with dark dress pants and dark dress shoes
      • Please lightly press your gown, if needed, so it is NOT wrinkled.
    • No medals are worn for this event.
    • NHS sashes and Tri-M cords will be handed out prior to the ceremony.

    Thursday, June 2 there is no school for seniors

    Commencement (Graduation) will be on Friday, June 3 at 7:30 PM and we sure hope to be on the athletic field 

    • All graduates MUST attend practice on Friday, June 3 at 10:00 AM.  They should report to the auditorium for announcements and then we will all go to the athletic field or gymnaisum for practice.
    • If there is rain forecasted for Friday BUT NOT for Saturday, June 4, then commencement will be moved to Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 AM
    • If rain is forecasted for both Friday and Saturday, then commencement will be Friday, June 4 in the auditorium 
      • Number of tickets for an indoor graduation will be based on the final number of graduates
      • Outdoor graduation does NOT need tickets
    • A decision will be made by Friday, June 3 at 10:00 AM of when the ceremony will be held.
    • Commencement/graduation attire should be followed for the Baccalaureate service.
      • Ladies: Dress shoes, dress/skirt/pant suit should be worn with dress shoes/sandals (no casual shoes or flip flops); appropriate hair style to wear your cap
      • Gentlemen: Light colored dress shirt and tie with dark dress pants and dark dress shoes
      • Please lightly press your gown, if needed, so they are NOT wrinkled
    • Only the Academic Gold medal is worn for this event.
    • NHS sashes and Tri-M cords will be handed out prior to the ceremony.
    • Military sashes/cords may be worn, if given by your military branch.
    • Students should report to the cafeteria by 6:45 PM.
    • Following the ceremony, students must report to the table by the athletic field, or outside of the auditorium if held indoors, to see Mrs. Leader for their actual dipoma and health records.
    • A designated family member should pick up each graduate's senior sign that was purchased by the Wildcat Education Foundation and displayed outside the school.
