The business club Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is facilitated by Mr. Kaler. It is offered during clubs in the school schedule, and is a great option for students interested in majoring in Business upon graduation from Halifax. FBLA is a competitive club, so the intent is for students to develop a skill-set of interest to them, and then attend, local, state, and national competitions against other FBLA-participating schools. There is a fee to be a member. It is also helpful to know that FBLA membership can be carried with the student into college where students can become members of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). PBL is literally the college version of middle and high school FBLA.
The school store called The Den is also operated and managed by Mr. Kaler. Each year he looks for a student intern to assist him with the running of the school store during 8th period. You get graduation credit for participating in the internship with Mr. Kaler, and simultaneoulsy you get to develop necessary job and life success skills. Not only is the school store open during the school day, the school is typical open during home football, and select home basketball games throughout the season. This gives the community the chance to purchase general school apparel. It is helpful to know that at Halifax, each club and sport conduct their own fundraisers, and oftentimes those fundraisers include the selling of apparel. So, if you're interested in sports specific apparel, then you're going to need to contact someone associated with that sport in order to purchase apparel. The school store only sells general apparel and products, so our appreal will only Halifax. In addition to apparel, the school store offers a variety of other needs such as: office and school items, cellphone poppers, stickers, temporary tattoos, necklaces, pom-poms, travel mugs, umbrellas, bumper stickers, license plate frames, and much more. Generally, if you contact us and ask us to purchase it, we will do our ebest to get it in stock and available for purchase for you.
