MISSED A DEADLINE FOR YEARBOOK?????
EMAIL OR CALL MRS. BECKI ENDERS ASAP TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY WAY TO STILL BE A PART OF THE MISSED DEADLINE!
The Halifax High School yearbook, the Wildcat, is comprised of an entire student staff of approximately 18-20 students and two faculty advisers, Mrs. Becki Enders and Ms. Luann Curry. In order for a student to be selected as a staff member, he/she must complete the application process in January and be selected for the Publications course during February course selection. At the present time, only students who are in the course are eligible to be on the Wildcat yearbook staff.
Currently, working with our yearbook publisher, Balfour Publishing (based in Texas) we produce an all-color, 128 page hard-bound book. In addition, we currently raise all funds to produce the book through book sales, advertisements/sponsorships, patron sales, and senior tributes. Our production process is highly confidential because it has been a long tradition at Halifax to have a yearbook delivered to students that is full of surprises.
Students are responsible for the creative design, layout, and writing of the book and for all but the sports photography and senior portraits, which are taken by our local photographer, Colleen & Co. Our underclassmen pictures are now taken by Colleen & Co. as well.
Additionally, our staff completes their own book sales. This year, books will be on sale from May 29 through October 19, 2012 and there are several incentives to purchase your books early. We will also be offering a payment plan option and gift certificates. Order forms are sent home at the end of the 2012 school year and they are available on the district website. We can only sell our books for the designated time each year to ensure timely delivery of the books in the spring. Our book is guaranteed to be handed out to students before Memorial Day Weekend.
